A multi-cultural society calls for fusion-flavors and Azur, the resident buffet restaurant at Crown Plaza Changi Airport, offers just so. Helmed by a chef of Indonesian influences, Azur serves up a “No Pork No Lard” menu, and welcomes the Muslim community with its delectable spread.
A cozy and dimly-lit restaurant at the accessible corner near the Changi Airport MRT exit, Azur serves up local delicacies as well as the staples of buffet essentials. For us, we tend to scour and dig the fresh seafood segment, which was satisfying over at Azur. Nothing can go wrong with fresh and juicy oysters!
One of the specialties of Azur is the Ayam Panggang Sereh, which is baked chicken with lemon grass and lime leaf, done with authentic Indonesian flavor. Some other Indonesian-influenced dishes that we fancy was the Ayam Penyet. Azur also features a variety of gastronomia from Japanese sushi, Italian DIY pasta, and most importantly, a tinge of local flavors ranging from a DIY Rojak station to pretty bowls of Chicken rice.
Of course, a splendid buffet experience will include desserts, which Azur has aplenty of. The spread speaks for itself, but the Durian cake was our favorite of the night. It was moist and fragrant, which led to us having more servings than we’d thought we would take.
Prices start from just $ 29.50 ++ per person on weekdays. Location-wise, Azur may be a little out of the way for most Singaporeans. However, with some wide range of quality buffet spread, Azur should appeal to the Muslim community and for families looking for wallet-friendly and worthwhile buffets in Singapore.
