LeNu is designed and styled like a modern chophouse with panels of rustic wood adorning the walls, accessorised by dozens of industrial light bulbs hanged by exposed cables attributing to its au naturel feel.
The name “Le Nu” means “Happy Cow” and it seeks to bring a smile to beef noodles lovers by offering quality and affordable Taiwanese braised beef noodles. Having been imparted the secret recipe to making good, tasty beef noodles, the chefs at LeNu have further crafted it to suit local palate.
The menu is a very flexible one, offering choice of soup as well as noodles. It caters to lovers of spicy food, as well as customers who prefer the original, authentic flavour. With a wide selection of beef noodles available, customers will be able to choose which one they enjoy the most.
In addition to beef noodles, customers also can choose from a wide variety of chilled appetizers available at $2.60 each. Among the choices available, there were Chilled Pickled Tomatoes and Chilled Crunchy Cucumbers which were highly recommended.
What makes their beef noodles so special? They emphasize on four main essences, namely the Authentic Braised Beef Broth, the Premium Well-Marbled Beef, the Specialty Noodles and the Secret Dipping Sauce.
According to them, more than 18 hours of hard work goes into the making of the braised beef soup broth. It starts with the baking of beef marrow and beef bones for a minimum of 7 hours and the oil collected from the baking is then left aside and solidified into a rich orange coloured butter.
This is the braised beef combination noodles. Rice noodles was chosen and as you can see, it was a generous proportion of noodles with beef slices and the soup tasted very delicious.
Besides their broth, beef and noodles, they also have a secret dipping sauce which leaves one asking for more. It is homemade and produces a salty flavour, followed by a mild spicy and finally a sweet pleasant aftertaste.
This is the dry noodles version of it and comes without beef but beef can be ordered separately and will come in a bowl of soup.
The beef was very tender and there was no worry that it would be too thick or difficult to chew. The noodles came in a very special sauce that gave it flavour and made it taste really good.
