It is only 2 more months to the end of the year, but before we end 2014 with a bang, it is everybody’s favourite season – the festive mood is strong in December. The season of giving includes gifting and also pampering yourself with delicious spread of buffet! Here are some of the spread you can expect – from fresh seafood, oriental delights, to sweet treats and log cakes, are you salivating from #IHGFoodie yet?
InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) will be serving up scrumptious and festive buffet spreads, celebrating A Whimsical Christmas this December, having both buffets and takeaway menu for homely and cozy comfort. This is a calling for those looking to pamper themselves with great food. Check out some of our favourites from the buffet below.
Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Center
Windows on the Park celebrates Christmas with family-owned dishes from Australia’s ‘Godfather of Gastronomy’, Tony Bilson. This Christmas fruit cake is bound to capture hearts of many. Recipe from Tony Bilson’s mother-in-laaw, this hearty and homely fruit cake comes with cognac ($60 nett) and without cognac ($40 nett). Generously filled with mixed dried fruits topped with cinnamon stick, figs and peaches, this war-time conceived recipe will be a great dessert for the season. This Christmas fruit cake is also available for takeaways, with orders made 3 days in advance.

Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium
One of our favourites from Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium is their sweet treat, the Red Forest Log Cake ($68+, 1 kg). The cake is fresh and sweet from the richness of the berries, it is a log cake for berries-lovers!
Offering from roasted turkey to sweet treats, The Honey Glazed Boneless Gammon Ham from Singapore Atrium ($155+, approx. 2kg) is a delight, infused with star anise and clove, it leaves a fragrant, light yet lingering flavour. The ham is also very tender to the bite.

InterContinental Singapore
My personal favourite has to be the Rolled Pork Belly Crackling ($120+, 3kg) stuffed with prunes and apricots, served along with apple chutney. The sweetness, along with the crispy and roasted pork is delicious festive match.
For log cakes, go for the Buche de Noel Hazelnut Crunch ($65+, 1 kg). In Nutella hazelnut sponge with crunch mousseline cream and praline paste, you will not get tired of the cake because of the texture and its elegant nutty richness.

Crowne Plaza Changi Airport
A dessert with its sweetness lingering long in your mouth, the Yuzu Infused Log Cake ($62+) is layered with Meringue Sponge, Caramel Crunch and Yuzu infused Valrhona Dulcey Chocolate. The cake is creamy from the Valrhona Dulcey chocolate, and the rich taste is perfect for those who love their chocolate with a toasty taste.
Offering another sweet treat is the Ispahan Macaron ($62+), a dessert that is only fitted for the sweetest tooth. The Ispahan is packed with juicy raspberries and an infused rose flavour, with lychee slices in the middle of the shell. A delight for sweet treat lovers!
